2016 Wedding Photography Roundup!

Well 2016 was one hell of a year!  When I started this little adventure I had no idea where it would take me, if it would even take me anywhere at all!  I remember sitting there as I launched my first website thinking... "No one will ever book me", but they did.  And then more did and before I knew it I was shooting weddings constantly and this little adventure started to become a real story even if it's still only the early chapters.

I've learnt so much since starting out, like not to take pictures of people eating during the wedding breakfast along with lots of other little useful tips and tricks to make the day easier not only for me, but for my couples.  My editing has changed along the way, the way I look at light has improved and my love for the whole thing hasn't faltered once.  It can be hard to call it a job when you enjoy what you do so much.

2016 was also a year of learning.  I attended several workshops to learn from some of the world's best wedding photographers.  It was great to hear their stories, how they started and why they do what they do.  It was also great to meet so many other photographers at these to bounce ideas, share stories and to build new friendships.

The most important thing for me though in 2016 has been the couples I have worked with.  They've trusted me to go out there to capture their special days and have all been so welcoming it's made this whole journey even more special.  Walking into houses or hotels meeting a room full of strangers for the first time and taking their pictures all day can seem like a scary prospect, but I've been made to feel at home constantly and have met some amazing people while doing this.

I've worked with some amazing venues and some super talented suppliers and I really can't wait to see what 2017 brings!  Anyway, enough of the emotional ranting.  Here's some highlights from my 2016 weddings!
