Emma and Ged's Castlefield Rooms Wedding!

I started Emma and Geds wedding at Emmas family home where she got ready with her parents and bridesmaids and the Sun. Emma and Ged preferred natural photos and didn’t want to spend the day rooted to one spot having photo after photo. I spent some time with the girls before heading over to all Saints Church to meet Ged and the guys who were greeting guests. 

Emma arrived as the heavens opened and made to dash into the church to avoid the rain. As she walked down the aisle she smiled at Ged and throughout the ceremony they  exchanged little smiles and glances. Their son was happy to explore the church, crawling around and going on the steps to the alter. Too young to fully understand what was going on, he saw the church as a giant playroom which made for some sweet photos for them to remember. After the ceremony the newlyweds greeted their friends as they made their way outside and onto the bus that would take them to the Castlefield Rooms in Manchester.

The Castlefield Rooms is part of Dukes 92 and is an urban setting that is close to some iconic Manchester architecture. As the weather was bad the bride and groom made their way into the venue when they arrived where they mingled with their guests over drinks and canapés.  They had live music in the room during the drinks reception which set the tone perfectly

It was soon time for the speeches which had everyone in fits of laughter as tales of the younger years were shared which had some head in hands moments of embarrassment. After the wedding breakfast I stole the couple briefly for some natural portraits, however, as they didn’t want to spend much of the day having their photo taken, we literally grabbed a few pictures before heading back inside to the party.

As evening guests arrived and the dance-floor was cleared, it was time for the first dance which kickstarted the evening party. The dance-floor was packed with friends and family and I couldn’t help but notice everyone laughing at something.  I headed over to investigate to find the brides dad had somehow managed to get stuck to the dress of one of the brides friends. While people tried to help others were in fits of laughter and I’m sure the photos of this will haunt him for years to come.

I love to capture natural wedding photos as I really believe it tells the story of your day as it happens, so I try not to setup anything. Emma and Ged wanted the day telling as it was so I got to spend the day capturing all the little moments for them to really tell the story of their day.
