Kathryn and Craig's Oh-Me, Oh-My Wedding!

A WORLD CUP WEDDING AT THE STUNNING LIVERPOOL CATHEDRAL AND OH ME, OH MY!

When Kathryn and Craig first got in touch with me about their Oh Me, Oh My wedding in Liverpool, I was so happy – they were planning the most relaxed and laid back wedding with a religious ceremony, a live band and even a caricature artist. Kathryn and Craig are the most fun people and I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!

Bride and groom prep

I rocked up at their family home, where the groom and his friends were getting ready, and it was really chilled, because everyone was in a good mood. Kathryn wore a stunning, elegant dress and Craig wore a modern, navy suit and they looked so perfect. In the morning Craig was wearing England shirts to go with the current world cup and rather than player names had groom, best man and father of the groom on the back instead. They were a great gift for the guys and will be great to put on during England games.

The ceremony

The wedding took place at Liverpool Cathedral, and was a traditional religious ceremony. They had some beautiful readings, which everyone enjoyed. Just before Kathryn came down the aisle, I caught Craig having a sip from a hip flask hidden behind the order of service! After the ceremony they walked through the main part of the Cathedral which isn't usually done, and then headed out front for a few family shots and to throw confetti. Kathryn’s Mum works with the Cathedral so used her connections so that the wedding party could all walk through the main Cathedral after the ceremony.

The party

The wedding reception took place Oh Me, Oh My, which they’d decorated with wild flowers on the tables and a huge flower wall for photos. It was beautiful.

It was a overcast day, which was perfect for photos. While the guests enjoyed canapes and cocktails, a caricature artist worked the room and had people in stitches when they saw their drawing. My favourite photo from the afternoon is from the Cathedral Gardens. There was a huge wall full of wild plants and as soon as I saw it I knew it was the perfect spot for some natural portraits.

During the reception they everyone mingled and chatted, which was the perfect time for me to capture some candid photos. The wedding was later than usual, so when we arrived at the venue it wasn't too long until it was time for the speeches and wedding breakfast. For the meal they had a self service table full of different options, and it was loved by all the guests. After the meal the band started up, then the couple cut the wedding cake and the band kept everyone dancing all night. They also had a few nighttime portraits outside while in the city, which was so much fun. They wanted a super relaxed wedding and that's exactly what they received. It was a day full of emotions and was a real pleasure to capture.

Here’s their relaxed, world-cup, Oh Me, Oh My wedding!

If you’re looking for a natural wedding photographer to capture your Oh Me, Oh My Wedding, then be sure to get in touch! I love capturing weddings throughout Lancashire but do love a good city wedding in Liverpool!
